Sunsetting You is, unapologetically, a break-up painting. It was the first painting I made during a two-week artist residency in Summerville, South Carolina. Despite making it after several grueling months away from the studio, painting it felt cathartic and effortless. It is the first painting where I use the color hot pink. Fiery, emotional, but also very, very strong, I hope this painting reminds you of your own strength and resilience during trying times.
