Choosing Me (titled much later) was created during a two-week artist residency in Summerville, South Carolina. Paintings from this time mark my first use of hot pink, a fiery, significant and deeply feminine color. Painted while grappling with big emotions, Choosing Me represents finding clarity, courage, and power.
